Can I leave a LCD or Plasma TV over winter in a cottage in Wisconsin, exposed to sub-zero temperatures?

We have left regular cathode tube TVs there for years, but we need a new tv and I wanted to get LCD or Plasma.

LCD panels can rupture at minus 20 degrees F and below and this type of damage is not covered by a manufacturer’s warranty or a store’s extended warranty. This is usually documented in the neglect section of the warranty.

Plasma cells contain a gas and should fair better than an LCD.
